Todd Cole, Spirit Myth. Softcover, 32 pp. 35 x 26 cm. Summer 2021.

A fine copy of this recent zine-format book by LA-based photographer, filmmaker and art director Todd Cole, who has made music videos for Charlotte GainsbourgKurt Vile and Kylie Minogue, also working with Lena Dunham for i-D magazine and Elle Fanning for fashion brand Rodarte. 'The Curve of Forgotten Things', for instance, premiered on LVMH’s content website nowness.com. Elle Fanning, the younger sister of Marc Jacobs model Dakota, stars as the muse in the movie showcasing the Rodarte’s SS11 collection.

One notable aspect of Cole's work is his documentation of the skater scene in Los Angeles. Through his photography, Cole tries to capture the energy and spirit of the city's vibrant skateboarding culture. His images portray skaters in moments of freedom and self-expression, highlighting the urban landscapes they inhabit.
