From the mid 1970s to the 1990s House of Milan (HOM) was successful as a publisher of bondage magazines and BDSM videos. Its success was largely due to the efforts of fetish photographer and producer Barbara Behr. From the mid-1970s to the late 1990s, HOM was widely regarded as one of the key players in the bondage industry's Golden Age, alongside Harmony Communications (later Harmony Concepts) and California Star.
