- an inkjet print of the Dutch translation by Dirk van Bastelaere of Ridley's piece;
- a note by director Yves Bombay who staged the play for Nieuw Ensemble Raamtheater during the 1997-1998 season, and
- a photocopy of Philip Ridley, The fastest clock in the universe. London: Methuen, 1992, the version on which the translation is based. (ISBN 0-413-67140-2).
The Folder's Content
1) The Dutch translation, which includes corrections in green ink by the translator and comments and suggestions in blue ink by director Yves Bombay, was printed on 72 sheets of recycled A4 paper using an inkjet printer.
2) Attached to the title page with a paper clip is a handwritten message from Yves Bombay, written in black ink on cream-colored paper.
The message by Yvves Bombay reads:
'Dear Dirk,
I am very happy with the translation.
herewith you will find my comments and questions. i suggest we talk about it after Sept. 14, when you have made up your mind.
Marc Cnops has also received a copy, and will also let us know something in due course.

3) Ridley's black and white photocopied text consists of 45 sheets of A4, including the front and back cover and introductory text, with a brief biography of the author.
Copyright page nor table of contents are included. This copy is probably a copy of the copy made by director Yves Bombay, who directed and staged the play for Nieuw Ensemble Raamtheater in 1992, as notes in (probably) his handwriting have been photocopied.
The Methuen copy contains original handwritten notes and markings in blue, green and red ink by Dirk van Bastelaere on most of the pages, mainly preliminary translations of phrases, and variations. The verso side of the last page contains handwritten rate calculations per line and per page in Belgian francs.

Philip Ridley (born 1964) Philip Ridley is a British artist known for his diverse contributions across literature, theater, film, and music. Originally from the East End of London, Ridley studied painting at St. Martin’s School of Art.
Ridley wrote and many more stage plays, such as The Pitchfork Disney, the multi-award-winning The Fastest Clock in the Universe, Ghost from a Perfect Place, Vincent River, Mercury Fur, Leaves of Glass, Piranha Heights, Tender Napalm etc. His stage plays, characterized by their bold themes and innovative storytelling, have earned him recognition as a seminal figure in contemporary theater.
Ridley's cinematic endeavors have gotten him international attention with the highly acclaimed screenplay for the feature film The Krays and films like The Reflecting Skin or Heartless demonstrating his unique vision as both a screenwriter and director. His contributions to children's literature have also been noteworthy, with books like Scribbleboy and Krindlekrax captivating young audiences.
Beyond his literary and cinematic achievements, Ridley is also a talented musician, having co-founded the music group Dreamskin Cradle and released the album Songs from Grimm. Additionally, his performances as a spoken word artist, particularly his readings of Lovesongs for Extinct Creatures have resonated with audiences worldwide.
Dirk van Bastelaere (born 1960) is regarded as one of the leading poets in Flanders. He came early to prominence with his first collection 'Vijf jaar' (Five Years, 1984). But it was his 1988 release, 'Pornschlegel en andere gedichten' (Pornschlegel and other poems), that really turned heads. Widely debated and dissected, it secured his reputation as the leading postmodern poet in Flanders. Inhoud van de map
1) De Nederlandse vertaling, inclusief correcties in groene inkt door de vertaler en opmerkingen en suggesties in blauwe inkt door regisseur Yves Bombay, is afgedrukt op 72 vellen gerecycled A4-papier met behulp van een inkjetprinter.
2) Aan de titelpagina is met een paperclip een handgeschreven bericht van Yves Bombay bevestigd, geschreven in zwarte inkt op crèmekleurig papier.
Het bericht van Yves Bombay luidt:

3) Een zwart-wit fotokopie van Ridley's tekst bestaat uit 45 vellen A4-formaat, inclusief de voor- en achterkant en de inleidende tekst, met een beknopte biografie van de auteur. Er is geen copyrightpagina of inhoudsopgave opgenomen. Deze kopie is waarschijnlijk een kopie van de kopie gemaakt door regisseur Yves Bombay, die het toneelstuk regisseerde en opvoerde voor Nieuw Ensemble Raamtheater in 1992, aangezien aantekeningen (waarschijnlijk) in zijn handschrift zijn gefotokopieerd.
De Methuen-kopie bevat originele handgeschreven notities en markeringen in blauwe, groene en rode inkt van Dirk van Bastelaere op de meeste pagina's, voornamelijk voorlopige vertalingen van zinnen en variaties. De keerzijde van de laatste pagina bevat handgeschreven tariefberekeningen per regel en per pagina in Belgische franken.

Philip Ridley (geboren in 1964) is een Britse kunstenaar bekend om zijn diverse bijdragen aan literatuur, theater, film en muziek. Oorspronkelijk afkomstig uit de East End van Londen, studeerde Ridley schilderkunst aan de St. Martin’s School of Art.
