Burning Man as a potlatch event
In this lavsihly illustrated hardcover monograph, writer and photographer NK Guy presents 16 years of Burning Man art.
His photographs demonstrate how the Black Rock Desert cult festival's interactive, collaborative, and organically transitory installations and events exist as temporary and in situ art works. As a kind of potlatch feast, the end result is a short-lived gift to the Burning Man community, reaching far beyond mainstream cultural output.
David Best, temple designer and artist, wrote the foreword, and Marian Goodell, a Founding Board Member, wrote the futureword.
