The enduring allure of Mod culture
Horst Friedrichs' photography book, on 21st Century Mods offers a captivating exploration of the enduring allure of Mod culture. Combining color and black-and-white pictures, Friedrichs captures the meticulous attention to detail that defines Mod fashion, showcasing tailored suits that are either off-the-rack, vintage, or custom-made and perfectly tailored to fit like a glove.
Every garment, from the sharp lines of the suits to the carefully selected accessories, reflects the Mod culture's dedication to immaculate dressing. Vintage dresses paired with striking accessories, evoke a sense of nostalgia while embracing the contemporary spirit of the Mod movement.
Bobs and asymmetrical cuts
Beyond the clothes, Friedrichs' lens catches the essence of Mod identity—the hairstyles that revolutionized British style in the late 1950s and early '60s, the sleek bobs and asymmetrical cuts that remain as arresting today as they were then. While the men epitomize sartorial elegance, it's the women who often steal the show with their confident, stylish flair, proving that Mod style knows no gender boundaries.
