Régnier (1864 - 1936) was married to Marie de Hérédia, a writer in her own right and daughter of Parnassian poet José-Maria de Hérédiapublishing under the pen name Gérard d'Houville. He was a prolific writer, and member of 'Le Clubs des Longues Moustaches' whose members met to smoke cigars in Venetian cafe Florian.
