François Prost, After Party. A photographic journey into french nightclub facades by François Prost. S.l. (Paris): Headbangers publishing, 2018. 255 pp (+ 20 Index).
Hardcover with title and image of a glitter ball in holographic foil stamping on ultramarine blue leatherette. Edges colored. Illustrated endpapers. Introduction and editorial in front section printed on yellow (printed) paper. A2 poster map with club locations folded in PVC pocket. Book design by François Prost and Jefferson Paganel.
200 photographs of abandoned discotheques in broad daylight, a great leatherette cover, a poster, and above all, an inventory of the most beautiful nightclubs in France and Belgium. It took Prost 10 years to complete the project.
'Like Cinderella returning to reality, these party places, the theatre of so many teenage fantasies, become empty shells,' Prost says. 'With a certain humour and a hint of nostalgia, the series also highlights the excessiveness of the decors and visual codes used in these establishments.'
Limited edition of 1000 copies.

There's a small white spot on the upper edge where the ink has come off or where the paper edges were never printed. Another possibility is that the edges were foil-stamped and the foil has come off on this particular spot. The right edge has two white spots only one or two pages thick, probably from thumbing through the book. Some absolutely minor shelf wear on the lower part of the title. Else, a fine copy and a real collectors' item.
