'Not a history of male nude photography by women, some older examples of it, like Dionora Niccolini's male nudes from 1961 were selected by Peter Weiermair. The show's intention was to anthologically cover a broad spectrum of the growing photographic production of the 1980s, a field that ranges from the aesthetic fixation of the naked man (Annette Berns) during while swimming to the documentation of the dancer Cipolla (Giuliana Traversa), examples of authorial photography (Vera Hernandez), studio photography (Lynn Davies, Marsha Burns, Sandi Fellman), staged photography (Jaschi Klein, Lenni van Dinther, Sharon Stewart) to the differentiated forms of contemporary positions, large photography (Peschick), the rediscovery of historical positions and their re-staging (Dominique Auerbacher) the surrealist collage (Janet Livingstone) or colored photography in connection with text (Barbara De Genevieve) as well as the large polaroid photography (Sandi Fellman).'
